End of Life Room
Opened in March 2013, this offers terminally-ill patients a safe and dignified space to spend their last days with family and friends. This was a long term goal finally achieved through the hard work of fundraising and donations. The project cost €140,000 as a donation by Friends of the Hospital, while the space existed as a shell. The area also has access to its own private garden. It provides a quiet, comfortable space for end of life with facilities for friends and family to stay as well.
We know from feedback received that this room is greatly appreciated. It meets the intended needs of the care and respect by a terminally-ill patient during this difficult time.
