Autism Centre (The Esker Centre) was officially opened on December 12th 2005. In September 2013 a third Autism classroom was opened.
The Esker Centre in Ballinamere National School has 3 classrooms which provide education for children with Autism Spectrum Disorder.
The children of mainstream classes integrate with the children from the Esker Centre for both social and curricular subjects.
One activity that is particularly important and beneficial to all is the teaching of cooking and baking. This equips the children with important life skill and they love it!
